Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

MomentBoard is an independent, student-run project created for and by the IIT Jodhpur community. It has no official affiliation, sponsorship, or association with the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur (IIT Jodhpur or IITJ). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our services, including the MomentBoard live display and the IITJ Digital Yearbook.

2. Information We Collect

  • MomentBoard Display: Name, optional caption, and uploaded photos for temporary on-screen display.
  • Digital Yearbook: Name, email (via Google OAuth), roll number, department, hostel, graduation quote, profile photo, and optional social media links.
  • Automatically Collected: Basic server logs (IP address, timestamps) necessary for service operation.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To display your submitted photos on shared screens during events.
  • To create and publish your digital yearbook profile card within the IITJ community.
  • To authenticate your identity using your @iitj.ac.in Google account.
  • To maintain service reliability and troubleshoot issues.

4. Data Storage

Uploaded images are stored securely using Cloudflare R2 object storage. Profile data is stored in a Cloudflare D1 database. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties.

5. Data Retention

  • MomentBoard photos: Retained for the duration of the event display, then archived.
  • Yearbook profiles: Retained indefinitely as a permanent class record, unless you request deletion.

6. Your Rights

You may update or delete your yearbook profile at any time by signing in and editing your card. For complete account deletion, contact the project administrators. Yearbook profiles can be moderated by admins if they contain inappropriate content.

7. Third-Party Services

We use Google OAuth for authentication (governed by Google's Privacy Policy), Cloudflare for hosting and storage, and Pusher for real-time updates. Each operates under their own privacy policies.
